I should have introduced myself...

You can call me -S-

My friend and I found a blog and were so motivated by it, that we thought we'd start blogging ourselves. We both are on a weight loss journey, and let me tell you, this summer has not been a good one for us. Last summer we we're both doing Weight Watchers, and were both on the right track. Unfortunately over the winter we both went backwards in our journey, and are still having a tough time getting started again.

Personally I got down to my goal weight after leaving weight watchers and starting boxing. I was finally happy with myself at 135 lbs. Sadly I'm back up to 155lbs, which is where I started my journey at WW (weightwatchers). I'm still boxing, and I'm optimistic that some of the weight I put on is muscle...but I know there is a ways to go before I get really comfortable with myself again. My goal is to get back down to 135lbs.

No one likes the "F" word

No one likes the "F" word...and it's not the one you're thinking. FAT is a terrible word for anyone to use when thinking or talking about themswelves or others. The majority of people you meet are uncomfortable with themselves in some way...and one of the things that bothers me the most is when people make comments about you and your weightloss journey. Some examples:

  • "But you're not fat" - thanks, I didn't say I was fat, I just want to lose a little weight, tone up and feel good about myself.
  • "You have such a pretty face" - thanks (I think), are you saying I should only take pictures from the neck up lol
  • "You only lost ___ pounds" - to me any loss is a personal gain; even 0.5 lost is something. Make the most of all of your losses.

There are so many people out there that will try and bring you down...you must decide if you're going to let them. Be strong!
